Unexpected Beauty
Death Valley
The Death Valley gallery showcases the stunning, and unexpected natural beauty of Death Valley National Park located in California, United States. From ghostly and harshly stark landscapes to amazing dunes of vibrant sand and brilliant desert sunsets, Death Valley is my "home" park and my personal favorite place for photography. I think you'll agree that I've been rewarded with some stunning photos, and even a shot of a lifetime...come take a look!
Timeless and Eternal
The Grand Canyon
There is only one Grand Canyon. Timeless and eternal is truly a phrase that accurately describes the Grand Canyon National Park. Anyone who has visited the canyon remembers the very first time that they walked up to the rim of the canyon, not knowing quite what to expect, and then WOW - the massive and majestic Grand Canyon unfolds right there in front of you. Your first impression is one of awe that lasts for a lifetime. Photos often don't do it justice in large measure, but I hope that I have captured some of that awe and essence so that when these prints are hung on your wall, the thrill of your very first visit will be remembered all over again.
Red Rock Country
Sedona
Having traveled the world over doing landscape, nature, and wildlife photography in many stunning, beautiful, and exotic places, I can rightfully say that Sedona truly deserves its reputation for being one of the most beautiful places in the world, let alone the United States.
Fire and Ice
Polar Opposites
View galleries featuring stunning landscapes from Iceland, Greenland, Norway and Antarctica. These polar extremes still offer pristine and untouched frozen landscapes on a staggeringly large and awesome scale. Stunning blue icebergs tower above you while majestic glaciers flow down from the highlands are among the many photographic treasures that can be found here. These are among my favorite places to photograph as there is seemingly endless beauty both in the unbelievably harsh winters and also in the warm and colorful summer light. Icebergs, ice caves, volcanoes, seaside cliffs, wildlife, glaciers and more await discovery. These places truly are a land of fire and ice.
African Wildlife
On Safari
The On Safari gallery presents a timeless selection of wildlife photos from The Dark Continent. The proud (and playful) lion, stately African elephant, and other majestic and awesome beasts still grace the plains of the Serengeti, although encroachment and poaching by man now poses an existential threat to their survival. These beasts are stunning when seen in person, and I hope I've managed to capture some of their essence and beauty in photographic form.
A Scorched Landscape
Valley of Fire
Located just outside the dazzling lights of Las Vegas is the small yet remarkable Valley of Fire state park, home to some amazing landscapes. Hidden among the scorched earth are stunning rock and arch formations, if you know the right places to look. I never get tired of exploring here to see what can be discovered. It literally is an adventure each and every visit.
Elegantly Formal
Classical Black & White
This gallery features selected prints which are offered in a timeless and fashionable black and white format. This format places a premium on composition and structure, with the distraction of color stripped away. I personally like this format a lot - especially when a set of prints are displayed together as a collection. This style of presentation adds a nice touch elegance, formality and distinction when displayed in professional office and workplace environments.
A Look At
The Artist
Read more about photographer and physicist R. John Anderson. "In today's 'instant message' and 5 second 'tweet' society, where we usually get caught up in the hustle and bustle to always move or get somewhere quickly, instantly, and never slow down even for an instant to capture any experience, I think there’s something special about a well done photograph which stops time..."
